A student of the International Culinary Center, and veteran of The Dutch in NYC, Shani is classically trained in French technique, groomed by her time in eclectic American restaurants, and influenced by international travel.  She hops comfortably in and out of a wide variety of cuisines, though she is happiest preparing elevated Middle-Eastern American fare.

 

She currently divides her time between cooking weekly meals for families in Brooklyn, recipe testing and preparing food for editorial photo shoots for Food52, and throwing elegant parties for the Culinistas and DineDK-two companies listed by Luxury Listings as the best private chefs in NYC.

She believes in coaxing flavors with the use of spices, herbs, and old school techniques. Finding inspiration in her middle eastern roots, she embraces freshness, insisting on only working with the best ingredients possible.


Shani enjoys baking, making ice cream from scratch and has refined her pastry skills in addition to her savory cooking abilities.
